When I hear ppl say “if I just had a million dollars I’d..”, I ask, “what can you tell me you know for sure about your brain (which is obviously WAAAaay more valuable than a million dollars)?” My intent isn’t to make anyone look stupid, I am just trying to get them to realize the value from a different perspective. I want to encourage ppl to actualize the invaluable resources they already have and to take the time and make the effort to learn all they can about their brain so they can better utilize it to their own advantage. “Giving money doesn’t solve money problems” and “money doesn’t change you into someone else, it exemplifies more of who you actually are” (*paraphrasing here) are two adages that couldn’t be more true. I dont consider myself that smart and I am nowhere near being a millionaire, but I do know this much

You can ignore a bully when you have some confidence, but otherwise ignoring out of fear gets you worse results usually. So most importantly build your confidence in yourself. Find something that you are good at and that will strengthen your belief in yourself. Whatever that is, study, sports, student work, volunteering. You must find an outlet and avoid closing yourself in. And do what he said. Become at peace with your issues, at least start to work through them each day. Write, talk talk, debate so much about your issues with a trusted person or preferably more, that you no longer feel the instinct in you to hide when they are mentioned. That is how you desensitize yourself, and learn to handle comments. Know that these are temporary things, or only important temporarily. Once you can be somewhat at peace when any issue comes up, your confidence grows and you respond differently, bullies disappear.
